Message for RD20

RD20 is a unique forum gathering R&D organisations from five continents and recognized scientists sharing a common ambition for the protection of our planet and the mitigation of global warming.

As each country is facing different geographical, political and economic conditions, climate change mitigation will never rely on one solution coming from one country but rather on a portofolio of different solutions adapted to each local situation. And it is worth highlighting that a large proportion of these technological solutions are still under development in research labs, which gives researchers a major responsibility and a leading role.

While social appropriation of these technologies constitutes an essential lever for the success of society decarbonization, codes and standards together with the calculation of environmental impact need also to be updated and shared to support the deployment of these technologies.

RD20 offers the possibility to scientific teams, from different disciplinary fields, to join forces for learning about all local situations, for developing common understanding and approaches, for training the next generation of researchers and contribute together reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.
