The 1.5 C target is the most prioritized and common issue for all mankind. Adaptation and optimization of various technologies depending on environments in different countries or regions need integration of all the technologies and wisdom currently available all over the world. International collaboration is therefore key to resolving global warming. The RD20 is an international initiative among G20 institutions. Its uniqueness and advantage are agile and prompt action based on plenty of scientific and technical knowledge and experience of member institutes. Collaboration with other international initiatives such as Mission Innovation is also essential for a systematic approach to the common target. Collaboration at a global level is a tough challenge but worth doing, I believe.
