David has over 35 years research experience in fundamental and applied aspects of combustion, gasification and energy technology systems. David has a strong international reputation in advanced energy technologies and has published widely on a range of advanced coal and energy technologies with particular emphasis on coal and coke reactivity, high temperature & high-pressure reactions, combustion and gasification and their applications in metallurgical and chemical processes, low emissions and renewable power generation and hydrogen production, transport and use in advanced energy systems.
